The role of Portuguese women in the construction of the Luso-Canadian community in Quebec and in their integration into local society is highlighted in a book launched on March 27 at the premises of the Portuguese Association of Canada, in Montreal. The work, “Portuguese Women in Quebec – Paths of Freedom”, co-organized by Joaquina Pires and Aida Baptista, brings together 40 testimonies from immigrant and Portuguese-descendant women who have shaped community life in Quebec across different generations and contexts.
