In this part, we look into what illnesses may impact South Asian seniors more than others, especially those residing in Canada. This may be due to unique factors, such as adjustments to the Canadian cold climate after spending much of their lives in hot weather, whereas some health issues relate to genetics. Loveen talks to a Punjabi doctor about the health-related challenges that South Asian seniors face, coping mechanisms, available support, and gaps in services. Many of these challenges are the reasons many seniors decide to go back home for surgeries.

Senior abuse within the South Asian community has increased over the years. Loveen talks to a senior who has experienced abuse and how they emerged from it, including the challenges they faced. According to a senior association, a lot of the abuse is based on property/economic interests, especially cases from back home.

South Asian seniors face unique circumstances after losing their spouse after decades of marriage. This story will dive into cultural expectations, grief support, and how their remaining partner copes.
